Write for us
Fresh Festival Journal welcomes thoughtful proposals about the design and experience of festivals. We are looking for clear, original ideas with a defined subject, a useful angle and careful attention to what can be stated responsibly.
What we welcome
Pitch essays and explainers about festival spaces, wayfinding, rhythms, sound or rituals. A strong proposal might examine one design choice, compare two formats, unpack a common assumption or trace how a particular feature changes the feel of a gathering. We welcome different viewpoints and subjects beyond familiar large-scale events.
A focused pitch
Tell us the proposed angle, why it suits Fresh Festival Journal, the main points you would explore and any relevant experience or material you can bring to the piece. Keep the idea specific enough to distinguish it from a general festival review. Do not include confidential information, unsupported claims or material you are not entitled to share.
Sending a proposal
Send proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Please include a working title and a short outline. A pitch is a proposal, not a guarantee of publication; we may ask questions or suggest a different scope before proceeding.
